Welcome to Appleton Public Montessori
Appleton Public Montessori (APM) is located at 1545 East Broadway Drive, Appleton, WI 54913. We are a charter school within the Appleton Area School District. Our school was started in 2005 to fill a need in the community for an authentic Montessori Elementary School. We started with two classrooms and have grown over the years to have five classrooms.
What is an authentic Montessori education?
The Montessori method is a child centered approach utilizing multi-aged classrooms. Each of our rooms offer a prepared environment with specific, hands on, sequential materials. Each child contributes to their learning or work plan by selecting work and concentrating on it for up to three hours during work time. Our students programing also includes Spanish, performing and visual arts and physical and environmental education. We have many goals for the children at APM, but most of all we hope they “learn to love to learn.”
APMA Discount for DreamBox Internet Math Program
APMA has secured a significant discount for students to use DreamBox, an internet math program. Combining a personalized, rigorous curriculum with a game-like environment, DreamBox nicely compliments Montessori teaching methods. DreamBox is a supplemental home learning program, and participation is not mandated by APM.
Usually priced at $120/student per year, APM families will have the opportunity to purchase it for only $25 for a year.
The best way to get a feel for DreamBox is to try it. A 1 month free trial is available at http://www.dreambox.com/at-home.
You can find a sign up form here or in the school office. Please turn in payment to the school office. Sign up deadline to get the discounted rate is May 12, 2015.
